Women from the Victorian period had several different gowns to wear throughout the day. For taking a ride in a buggy, a woman would wear a carriage dress. These gowns, like this fabulous carriage dress, were made to be more durable for the sometimes considerably long rides. This dress, styled from the 1860's in plaid silk, has a fitted bodice with black velvet collar and buttons. Beautiful black braid trims the cuffs along with ruffled lace. The very full skirt is gathered to the waist. Available in sizes XS to XXXXL. Dry clean. 100% silk; poly lace; cotton velvet trim. Priced separately are the ruffled hoop and gloves that the model is wearing. Designed and made proudly by Recollections in America!
